Tofino Sea Kayaking Company - Day Tour Sea Kayak Guide

We are looking for sea kayak guides who are comfortable leading people in class 1 & 2 ocean waters on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Experience leading people in a leadership role. You need skills to facilitate and instruct introductory sea kayaking tours from 2.5hrs to 6hrs in duration. Able to provide natural & cultural history interpretation topics to guests. Able to monitor safety and mitigate hazards related to terrain and water conditions for your group. Day tour guiding in this dynamic area provides a lot of opportunity to develop and hone leadership skills, risk management and judgement.

SKGABC 1,2 AOG certification or equivalent experience.
Paddle Canada level 2 would be an asset
Personal kayaking or paddling in class 2 & 3 waters
Experience leading groups
40hr Wilderness First Aid
VHF certificate
Cell phone

The Tofino harbour is a fun, dynamic and scenic area to guide due to do the diversity of the tour area. Guides will need to be comfortable in open coastal paddling, currents, fog and wind conditions.
