Membership Information

The Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC (SKGABC) welcomes all individuals involved in sea kayaking to become members.

Certified Guide Membership is open to those who have passed an SKGABC course or exam. This may be a Level One Guide, Assistant Overnight Guide (AOG), Level Two Guide, or a Level Three Guide or above. Additional accreditations (for instance, first aid certification) are required to maintain certification at a particular level. Certified guides may participate in SKGABC training and Exchanges, as well as act as professional guides within their certification level. They receive one vote at an AGM.

Associate Membership is open to anyone who supports the mission of the SKGABC. Associate Members may participate in SKGABC training and Exchanges (conferences). They are not certified to act as professional guides and do not receive a vote at the AGM.

The Alliance strives to ensure safe practices on an industry-wide basis.
