Profile:

I am currently guiding in the Broughton Archipelago, and more broadly aspiring to understand and thrive in surf, current, and dynamic waters. Declan also guides hiking, snowshoeing, winter camping, XC skiing, and kayaking programs for schools on the Lower Mainland, and teaches Red Cross wilderness first aid to people of all ages. A huge nerd–about paddling, weather, ecology, marine life–Declan strives to inspire guests and clients towards understanding and connection with the ecosystems around them. He holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences (Ecology and Conservation) and Critical Indigenous Studies from the University of British Columbia and, when not guiding, works as a research technician for the Mother Tree Project.
