Dear Guide Outfitters-- I'm ready for multi-day expeditions through-out the 2020 season. Please contact me if you're looking for a solid and passionate guide with excellent interpretation, camp and cooking skills. Sea kayak instructor and guide (SKGABC AOG certified - SKILS, Paddle Canada L1 Instructor - SKILS, Trak Kayak Pilot guide) Worked with Hello Nature, Deep Cove Kayak (PC L1 instructor and guide), Trek Program (kayak instructor), St George's (wilderness guide for youth) Wilderness First Responder (90-hr certified - Slipstream) Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License (Columbia Driver Training) Outdoor educator working with youth in the backcountry, including canoeing, kayaking and backpacking. Love camp cooking. Food is my medicine. Forager. Strong knowledge of coastal ecologies, including marine and rainforest ecologies- edible and medicinal plants, tree species, traditional skills, natural fire-starting materials. I like to incorporate breathing and mindfulness into wilderness trips, to enhance our feeling of being present and connected to an environment. I'm certified in yoga, breathwork and mindfulness practice, awarded with distinction, from Bihar School of Yoga, India. I'm an advocate for child abuse survivors and believe in the power of wilderness as therapy to help trauma survivors heal from conditions like PTSD, anxiety and depression. I'm a staff member for mens’ rites of passage healing weekends – I honor and respect diversity. I run kayak courses and trips for LGBTQ+ peoples in beautifully biodiverse places. In 2019, we partnered with Kevin Bradshaw @ Hello Nature and ran a Broken Island Group expedition. Member of the 8 Shields Network and Art of Mentoring nature school communities I love to play ukulele and sing songs of gratitude for the places we visit
