I'm a passionate outdoor educator and L2 guide with excellent nature interpretation, First Nations awareness, camp and cooking skills. Sea kayak instructor and guide (SKGABC L2, Paddle Canada L1 Instructor, Trak Kayak Pilot guide) Previous guiding experience with: Hello Nature, Deep Cove Kayak (PC L1 instructor and guide), Trek Program (kayak instructor), St George's School (wilderness guide for youth), Footprint Kayak (PC L1 instructor and guide) Wilderness First Responder (90-hr certified - Slipstream) Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License (Columbia Driver Training) Outdoor educator working with youth in the backcountry, including canoeing, kayaking and backpacking. Love camp cooking. Food is my medicine. Forager. Strong knowledge of coastal ecologies, including marine and rainforest ecologies- edible and medicinal plants, tree species, traditional skills, natural fire-starting materials. I like to incorporate breathing and mindfulness into wilderness trips, to enhance our feeling of being present and connected to an environment. I'm certified in yoga, breathwork and mindfulness practice, awarded with distinction, from Bihar School of Yoga, India. I'm an advocate for child abuse survivors and believe in the power of wilderness as therapy to help trauma survivors heal from conditions like PTSD, anxiety and depression. I'm a staff member for mens’ rites of passage healing weekends – www.mkp.org I honor and respect diversity. I run kayak courses and trips for LGBTQ+ peoples in beautifully biodiverse places. We have run expeditions and courses on Vancouver Island and in Desolation Sound. Member of the 8 Shields Network and Art of Mentoring nature school communities I love to play ukulele and sing songs of gratitude for the places we visit
