Rob has spent over a decade guiding in some of the world’s most dynamic coastal environments, including the Broughton Archipelago, Haida Gwaii, the Central Coast, the Discovery Islands, Alaska, and Tasmania. Throughout this time, he has developed a strong understanding of complex coastal and open-water systems. He holds a BSc in Marine Biology and Earth Sciences from the University of Victoria. During the winter months, Rob is based in the Kootenays, where he works as a ski guide in the mechanized ski industry. He holds professional certifications through the Canadian Avalanche Association and the Canadian Ski Guide Association. His expedition experience includes the circumnavigation of Moresby Island in Haida Gwaii, paddling remote sections of the Great Bear Rainforest, and extensive travel throughout Vancouver Island. Internationally, Rob has paddled and guided along the east, west, and south coasts of Tasmania, including expeditions and crossings in the Bass Strait. For the past five years, Rob has worked in guide management roles with North Island Kayak and AWE Adventures. He is now seeking additional guiding opportunities in remote locations for the 2026 season, where he can contribute strong leadership, expedition experience, and a safety-focused, professional approach.
