Job Description:
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and certified Kayak Guides of all levels to join our team. As a Certified Kayak Guide, you will have the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively with other guides and support staff to ensure our guests have an exceptional and safe experience while on tours.
Position: Kayak Guide
Contract: Fulltime seasonal (May – September)
Location: Ucluelet, Canada
Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist kayak tours, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests
- Provide natural history interpretation and educate guests about the local environment
- Demonstrate good safety judgment and outdoor leadership skills
- Collaborate effectively with other guides and support staff
- Assist with food-prep and cooking during multi-day trips
- Attend pre-season staff training dates
Requirements:
- Certified SKGABC Level 1, Assistant Overnight, Level 2, or Level 3 kayak guides (or equivalent)
- Valid certification and in good standing with the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC (or equivalent)
- Advanced Wilderness First Aid Certificate
- VHF radio operator’s license
- Passion and skill for natural history interpretation
- Good safety judgment and inspiring leadership skills
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence (can be obtained after hiring)
- Legally able to work in Canada (prior to being hired)
