The SKGABC Spring Guides Exchange, hosted by Ocean River Adventures in Victoria, BC, featured sessions ranging from rolling sessions, advanced navigation seminars, a tour of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, CPR C re certification, rescue scenarios, and prizes! With over forty Alliance members present, the fantastic spring weather made for a great weekend.

Coast & Kayak Magazine generously donated the 1st Annual Sheila Porteous Best Toque Award! After a hard fought competition, it was won by Jonathan Morissette with a fantastic full body banana suit!

The 2012 Spring Guides exchange is headed to Victoria! Hosted by Ocean River Adventures, the event will feature presentations, seminars, skill sessions, and equipment demonstrations as all exchanges have become famous for.

A number of accommodation options are available to attendees. Special offers will be available with local hotels and hostels. Alternatively, billeting with other local members may be an option.
CPR C Recertification
CPR C recertification will be available on Friday Afternoon.

Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Tour (JRCC): This is an excellent opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how maritime search and rescue operations are managed in British Columbia. If a sea kayaker runs into trouble on the high-seas, its the JRCC which helps facilitate rescue! Dont miss this exciting opportunity!
