The 2011 Spring Guides exchange was treated to amazing weather, and enthusiastic people! A huge Thank You to the Hosts, presenters, attendees, Atlantis Kayaks, and Cowichan Lake Education Center for helping to make this event a success.

  • Rolling and rescue sessions peppered the waters of Cowichan Lake.
  • Greenland Rolling clinics introduced basic and advanced rolls.
  • A presentation from Transport Canada took questions on the changes to the Shipping Act.
  • An amazing session from the BC Cetacean Sightings Network was informative and encouraged kayakers to participate in the program!
  • Start a fire by rubbing two sticks together... yep... we did that
  • History and future of Inuvialuit Qayaq design and usage with Kevin Floyd from NWT, and Mark Reuten of Nomad Boat Building
  • CPR C recertification with Wilderness Kayaking Company
  • Socializing, networking, and great food
  • And of course, beginner, intermediate, and advanced whitewater sessions on the Cowichan River!
