Spring Guides Exchange Details

HOST: Sealegs Kayaking Adventures
MEETING PLACE: Transfer Beach, Ladysmith

IF YOU ARE A LEVEL 3 GUIDE NEEDING TO LEAD A SESSION 
PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP!

COST: $ 55 per member
Includes: Friday Dinner/Saturday Breakfast/Saturday Dinner/Sunday Breakfast
WE NEED TO KNOW AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING DINNER

REGISTRATION: Contact Sue to register for the exchange. You can also register on site. Memberships can be paid at the registration desk.

EQUIPMENT: Contact Sue if you will need a kayak and safety equipment.

ACCOMMODATIONS: An area to camp will be available in the upper section on the park. Facilities at Transfer Beach include toilets and cold water only. Showers are available in town at the Frank Jameson Community Centre. There are also numerous B&B’s in the area. Check out the ACCOMMODATION list for more details.

FRIDAY, APRIL 28, 2006: Friday’s schedule of events includes a CPR C RECERT with Slipstream Wilderness First Aid and THE MARINE RADIO COURSE with Marti Tilley.

CPR C RECERT
COST: $10
LOCATION: TRANSFER BEACH
TIME: 12:00 – 6:00 pm
REGISTER by APRIL 21

MARINE RADIO COURSE (VHF)
In Module 1, you will be taught the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases.

Module 2 covers Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (DSC/GMDSS).

COST: MODULE 1 & 2 - $55                          MODULE 2 - $35
LOCATIONS: TRANSFER BEACH
TIME: MODULE 1 - 9:00 – 5:00 pm              MODULE 2 – 8:30 – 12:30 pm
