Guide Exchange October 6, 7, 2006
starts at 11:15 on the 6th (allows people from Vancouver to connect with ferries)
finish at 4:00 Saturday the 7th
LOCATION: DESCANSO BAY REGIONAL PARK , Gabriola Island
Directions: from the ferry, take your firsts left (Taylor Way Road). Approximately .5km along on your left is the campgrounds.
Note, there are limited facilities at this site –you need to pump water, no showers, No indoor space. Consider bringing your own water.

To date the following workshops have been scheduled. We are waiting for more guides to send in their activities:
-On water paddling skills Nigel Foster time unknown
Friday
11:15-12:30 (looking for proposals for this time slot)
Lunch 12:30 -1:30
--- on water Rescue Practice by Lee (looking for another guide to help him) 1:30-3:00
-- Wilderness First Aid Scenarios by Brooks (SSA) 1::30 – 3:00 and 3:15 to 4:45
- Flares and signalling devices Kim Crosby Friday 4:00-5:00
People are on their own for dinner, there is a nearby pub and restaurant. A two burner stove, pots and pans are available at the campsite for those who want to prepare their own meals outside at a picnic table
Saturday
---7:30-9:00 coffee, muffins, fruit, granola, juice provided---bring your own mug and bowl and spoon
